Cooperation with Sony
As part of the Sony City Talents project, cities like Berlin, Warsaw, and Tokyo have been illustrated for engraving on Sony Xperia devices. In 2015, Vienna was also included, and Sony chose me as the city illustrator.
People love unique items that stand out from the mainstream, which is why Sony offers artists the opportunity to get creative with the Xperia Z3 series devices through the "City Talents" project. In Austria, illustrator Nina Wilsmann immortalizes her personal view of Vienna on the back of the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. Playing with contrasting colors, breaking visual boundaries, and swinging on inspiring symbols: the adventurous world of urban art is Sony's playground.
After last year’s City Talents showcased in Tokyo, Berlin, and Warsaw, Austrian city talent Nina Wilsmann is now expressing herself through Vienna. Vienna-based designer Nina Wilsmann uses the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact as a unique platform to celebrate the lifestyle of the city and create something extraordinary. Her mission: to convey the spirit and fascination of her favorite city. Her canvas: the delightful back of the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact from Sony.
For the limited edition of the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact for Vienna, Wilsmann, whose artistically valuable city maps have received multiple awards in the past, captures her favorite spots and classic sights of Vienna in an intricately designed illustration. The Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact for Vienna showcases many of Nina Wilsmann's favorite places—from St. Stephen's Cathedral to the Prater, Votive Church, and Schönbrunn Palace.
"The mix of perceived history, a special urban flair, and green oases in the city defines Vienna's high quality of life for me. I aimed to convey this in my City Talents composition," says Nina Wilsmann.
With passion and craftsmanship, the designer's vibrant artwork is meticulously engraved onto the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact by an engraver. "Sony has always been about implementing the unusual and creative. Therefore, we are very pleased to provide a platform for artists like Nina Wilsmann with the City Talents project. Smartphones and tablets, which accompany us daily, are no longer just tech products, but are increasingly seen as desirable lifestyle factors. We want to support this trend with our City Talents," says Björn Bourdin, Director of Marketing Sony Mobile Communications CU Central Europe.
